ALUMNI GIRLFRIENDS MEET IN NEBRASKA
AUGUST 2008
Since the summer of 2005,
four Northwest alumni girlfriends have come together for a mini reunion
on the farm of Keith & Connie (Hall) Krueger in Wakefield,
Nebraska. A
strong bond of friendship was forged in the years after they left
Northwest College, when they all lived in Alaska. In the process
of time they all left Alaska, returning to the lower 48. However,
they now live in four different states. Nancy (Bottcher) Crabtree lives in Wichata, KS. Connie (Hall) Krueger hosts the group at their farm in Wakefield, NE. Barbara (Luehrs) Christy lives in Westlake, OH, and Carolyn (DeGroot) Crowell lives in Spokane, WA.
When these four gals got together the first time four years ago,
they experienced a wonderful unity and a depth of friendship which has
kept them connected and has drawn them back together every summer
since. This year they spent 5 days together. About this year's
reunion, Connie wrote, "We had a wonderful 4th reunion August 8-13th here at the Krueger Farm in Wakefield, NE
There was lots of talking ... Way too much laughter and silliness. I've
always said that there is very thin line between genius and insanity
and we crossed over the line many times in the course of 5 terrific
days.
Worship on Sunday was pure joy for us and hopefully a blessing to the congregation and most importantly the Lord.
We sang everywhere we went..
We'd go into stores and strike up conversations and then ask if we could bless them with a couple songs..
Always
much appreciated... One very precious elderly man was very touched when
we sang Jesus loves me to him.. A very special moment.
We challenged each other in many areas.... Especially being obedient to the Lord and doing the task at hand.
Much discussion about health and healthy living... We want to be gracious, vibrant, Jesus loving women as we age.
And be prayer warriors for our families and especially the grand children God has blessed us with.
Our last song sung together was:
God be with you till we meet again..
May His counsels guide, uphold you..
In His arms securely fold you.
God be with you till we meet again."
