Good evening, Samara.

didn’t get this finished up this morning and figured I wouldn’t be able to finish either—since Iworked on that barn project up till the time I needed to get ready to go to the Clackamas County Jail. Ireasoned that would consume the rest of the evening. But those plans were changed by a call from thefellow who heads up that jail ministry. He reported that the jail for some reason is shut down fortonight and our meeting is cancelled. Suddenly I have some time.

better go back to the house and check on the little boys that are here for the weekend. Becki iswith them, but Thano is still working—returning home in about an hour.

Have a good night.

Love, Tua.

Proverbs 11
Focus: “The LORD abhors dishonest scales, but accurate weights are his delight.” Proverbs 11:1.

If we want to be serious about LOVING WHAT GOD LOVES AND HATING WHAT GODHATES, we are not left to wonder what God thinks about ANYTHING DISHONEST. This worldaround us is stuffed with all kinds of shady tricks, temptations, and opportunities to get ahead and makesome money without actually engaging in fair-market-value WORK. Get-rich-quick schemes, stockmarket tricks and strategies, and just plain crooked con-artistry, are all over the place to attract anddeceive even responsible hard-working people. I hope you already recognize a big warning here,Samara: BE CAREFUL! BE ALERT! That’s not the kind of stuff that wins God’s blessing. Don’tallow yourself to follow others into such questionable financial tricks and traps that may look so goodand profitable on the outside, but inside inflict people with price tags they never calculated.

“…but accurate weights are his delight.” That tells me that God loves good honest trade valuesand work that earns a fair measure of income. Of course, HONEST AND FAIR should apply toeverything else we do as well. After all, “The LORD detests men of perverse heart but he delights inthose whose ways are blameless” (11:20).

“The wicked man earns deceptive wages, but he who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.”
~ Proverbs 11:18 ~
