Hi, Samara.
Well I missed finishing a message to you for yesterday—so I’m doing one below for yesterday. I’m really behind. Maybe I can catch up next year. Fat chance.
I’ll stick on a couple photos of Thursday when I took your little cousins up to the snow. We made a little snowman. I decided to give him a green shirt with some marking paint I had in the truck. I rigged up a concrete mixing tub as a sled which I carefully pulled behind the truck. Fun stuff.
It looks like we’ll have to wait till next year to see you again. That new year is only about 3 hours away. Good night. Happy transition to the New Year!
Love, Tua.
“Every word of God is flawless” means to me that His Word is without error—is to be trusted—and is to be obeyed. I think you know by now that not all the words of people are flawless—not all can be trusted—and certainly not all should be obeyed.
A pair of New Testament verses highlight the importance and trustworthy value of God’s Word—“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17). I would recommend that you memorize this important passage.
God is not One to just impart words of information, guidance, and instruction—He is a REFUGE. Herein is a principle I hope you will learn early—like yesterday. It really should be the default setting of our Christian lives. That is, when we encounter confusions, decisions, troubles, persecutions, discouragements, and temptations, we run to our REFUGE—we run to God and His Word. Most people run to other people, or run to their privacy, or run to drugs or booze so as to dull their hurts and struggles. But all those efforts are as futile as drinking saltwater when one is thirsty. They never meet the real needs.
