Greetings, dear people.

We just returned from our little exercise excursion up the hill. Thano joined us. And the present plan is that Thano will join me soon at loading up these kayaks to do a little test drive in the ocean—maybe at Gerabaldi. I guess I’ll lay aside my pile of work.

Blessings on your day—even if you’re not fishing.

Love, Dad/Ray.

Psalms 125 / Proverbs 25
Focus: "Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.” Psalm 125:1.

When so many people currently surrounding Mount Zion (Jerusalem) wish and intend to wipe Israel off the map, how really secure is she? Independent of any “trust in the LORD,” the answer to that question has to be, “Not very!” But when we choose to embrace our revolutionary and all-encompassing Biblical worldview that recognizes a very sovereign LORD, the answer has to be, “Very!—very very secure!” In fact, I have reason to believe that perhaps the safest place to presently reside on this planet is, in fact, in Israel.

Try to take in the significance of the next verse: “As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people both now and forevermore.” The key condition that makes this awesome promise individually beneficial is being one of “His people.” In the New Testament application of the phrase, “His people” are those who have placed their TRUST in the LORD Who offered Himself right there on “Mount Zion” as “the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29). Wow! Sing with me—“On a hill far away (Mount Zion), stood an old rugged cross…” And “…whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16)—like, “forevermore.”

“Like a city whose walls are broken down is a man who lacks self-control.”
(…or who lacks the will power to choose to TRUST IN THE LORD)
