Greetings, dear people.

Very nice day so far. The grass is growing so fast on these nice days that you can see it. And I can’t keep up with it. But one benefit could be to let it grow so high that it puts out of sight a lot of the work being called for.

My mill job yesterday in Salem was kind of a disaster. We encountered so many nails/metal objects in the logs that the customer just gave up. We didn’t even finish two logs. Phooey!

On to new adventures for this new day. Blessings on yours

Love, Dad/Ray.

Psalms 119:161-168 / Proverbs 18
Focus: "Rulers persecute me without cause, but my heart trembles at your word.” Psalm 119:161.

A Bible believer living in present-day America could justly make this same exclamation. Many government edicts along with “political correctness” are obviously designed to persecute and/or silence Christians (and/or conservatives). But we who are so oriented also have reason to not fear or be intimidated by such persecution knowing that our Sovereign Lord deserves greater respect and submission. And that right there is what I think galls most those who would wish to control us. I’m reminded that there is really nothing very new about the tensions between good and evil in this fallen world.

The external environment is never supposed to reign in control over the internal status of the true Bible believer. This passage contains a relevant principle of cause and effect that is of huge value: “Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble” (Psalm 119:165). Wow! How good is that!

Let’s give further attention to the source of that “peace of God, which transcends all understanding” (Philippians 4:7). It’s tucked away right here in the middle of our Proverbs reading: “The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe” (Proverbs 18:10). Those who are unrighteous and unbelieving don’t run to it—they run away from it, and put themselves in eternal peril. How bad is that!

“A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend
(Whom I will identify as Jesus) who sticks closer than a brother.”
~ Proverbs 18:24 ~
