Dear ones.
            I did a little jog with Kaden…not much jogging as he wanted to hold hands this morning and didn’t seem too spunky.  We did a walk back through a section of the Camp Adams woods.  He’s still gnawing on an apple I picked from our tree upon our return.
            I need to do my breakfast routine and get out to anticipate the coming of a guy with a few cedar logs he wants zipped up on my mill.
            Have a blessed day.

Psalm 148
Focus: “He has raised up for his people a horn, the praise of all his saints, of Israel, the people close to his heart.  Praise the LORD.” Psalm 148:14.

A footnote in my Bible says this about the use of the word “horn:” “Symbolizes strong one, that is, king.”  That can only be Messianic in its meaning—KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
            The psalmist is affirming that everything and everyone in all creation is obligated to PRAISE THE LORD.  That includes the sun, moon, stars, rivers, oceans, weather, animals, etc.—even humans.  That can only mean you and me.  The human element is described this way: “…kings of the earth and all nations, you princes and all rulers on earth, young men and maidens, old men (that has to include old ladies) and children” (vv. 11-12).
            Since song is so frequently recommended in worship by the psalmist(s), and since the hymn wafting through my head this morning as I take in this psalm is ALL HAIL THE POWER OF JESUS’ NAME, may I suggest that we sing it together?

1.  All hail the power of Jesus’ name!
Let angels prostrate fall;
Bring forth the royal diadem,
And crown Him Lord of all;
Bring forth the royal diadem,
And crown Him Lord of all.

2.  Ye chosen seed of Israel’s race,
Ye ransomed from the fall,
Hail Him Who saves you by His grace,
And crown Him Lord of all;
Hail Him Who saves you by His grace,
And crown Him Lord of all.

3.  Let ev’ry kindred, ev’ry tribe,
On this terrestrial ball,
To Him all majesty ascribe,
And crown Him Lord of all;
To Him all majesty ascribe,
And crown Him Lord of all.

4.  O that with yonder sacred throng
We at His feet may fall!
We’ll join the everlasting song,
And crown Him Lord of all;
We’ll join the everlasting song,
And crown Him Lord of all.

“God gives blessings to us so we can give glory to Him.”
