Hi family and friends,
Well we hope and trust your day of Thanksgiving was a wonderful of family, fun and relaxation.
I am sorry to tell you that Ardyth is back in the hospital, as of Friday, November 26. We had a day of relaxing and resting together, until about 5 pm, when she said she did not feel good, as our lunch at about 3 pm seemed to be still in her chest area. Up until then on that day, her vital signs were stable, as I checked them on our home bp machine. All of a sudden, she vomited up her lunch, which included what looked like blood, but we kept telling ourselves it was red because of the craneberries in the jello. Shortly after that, I checked her bp, which was normal, but her pulse was 120. We waited a little while, but when it did not go down, we called our Dr. team, and it was decided we needed to get to the hospital. This was 10:30 pm. We were in ER until 5:30 am Saturday, when they moved her to a room, to be tested much throughout the day.
The final diagnosis today is she seems to be bleeding around one of the joints of repair on the stomach and the bowel. A couple of procedures were done Saturday, to be watched until Sunday, and if the bleeding stopped, then she would be allowed to come home. If the bleeding did not stop, they would do an Endoscopy procedure to put a camera down her throat, as before, and see if they could see the problem. The Dr. is trying to do anything except do another surgery.
We read and was told that the WHIPPLE PROCEDURE is a difficult surgery because of so many moving parts. Well, Ardyth has experienced many of them so far. It is hard to see her endure, but we know that God is with us and her. Our faith is not broken, but it is tough at times. Please continue to pray for her and maybe we have several challenges to overcome to whip the whipple. She was resting when I left tonight, and we are trusting that tomorrow she will have good news that the bleeding has stopped and she will continue heal and recouperate.
Again, thanks for your prayers and thought of strength as we walk down the road, not knowing everything, but we know Who walks with us.
Jack
