Roy Brewer, (82), of Graham, WA, passed away on June 7, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, WA.
Roy was born Dec. 17, 1939, in Coulee Dam, WA. He graduated from Grand Coulee High School and went on to attend Northwest University (then College). He met the love of his life in high school, his pastor's daughter Arlene Wheeler, and married her on Aug. 19, 1961. After graduation from college in 1962 Roy began his ministry in Evangelism...his true calling.
Roy and Arlene traveled full time in evangelistic outreaches until 1971 when he became the D-CAP (District Youth Director) for the Montana District. He served there until 1979 when he accepted the pastorate of Abundant Life Christian Center in Arvada, CO. In 1985 he went back into full time evangelism. Then in 1986 he and Arlene took their first church-planting overseas trip to Paraguay, S.A. Over the next 37 years he continued in evangelism and church planting. Their ministry took them all over the USA and into the countries of Paraguay, S.A.; Kenya and Senegal, Africa; all over the Philippine Islands; Cambodia; Italy and Mexico. They helped in the planting of 60 new churches. He was in active ministry to the very end of his life - which was his wish - last speaking on April 3, 2022. A short illness resulted in his going to be with the Lord he had spent 60 years introducing people to around the world.
Roy was an avid outdoorsman and spent any time he could hunting, fishing and camping. He loved spending time with his family whether doing outdoor activities, traveling the country and world or playing Rook or Up & Down.
Roy is survived by his wife; Arlene; son, John Brewer and daughter, Joy (Scott) Jensen; grandchildren, Kelsey (Ben) Johansen, Britt Jensen (fianceĢ Elle), Chase Jensen (Katie), Caleb Brewer and Josh Brewer; great-grandchildren, Estelle, Theo and Myla Johansen; brother Robert (Sandy) Brewer; sister Katherine Neumann; and many nieces and nephews.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Madeline Brewer; sister, Teressa Brewer; and great-granddaughter, Vivian Jensen.
