Today I received an interesting report from Dr. Z. Ten days ago I went in and took my normal six-month tests and they revealed the following:

  1. The five tumors that I have are growing. In addition there is an additional serious tumor located on my lower spine.
  2. She also told me that I now have a multitude of small tumors throughout my body.
Dr. Z. is recommending that I start treatment as soon as possible, so we’re starting the process of investigating what type of treatment is needed to slow down, stop or eliminate these tumors. Because of the location and the number of tumors, Radiation and Chemo is out of the question. Besides they do not respond well to the Renal-Cell Kidney Cancer that I have. They do have a pill or infusion that has a good track record of slowing down, stopping and possibly shrinking the tumors. The results of these treatments vary from person to person. The two drugs being considered are Votrient and Sutent. If you have used or know someone who has used either of these drugs, can you please send me any information you might have of results or side effects? Thank you for your help in this way.

Please note that this has not discouraged me in any way, shape or form in my faith or the ability of Jesus Christ to take care of this cancer. And I also realize that this cancer can be a positive tool to allow me to be a witness of Him. I am feeling good without any pain or anxieties and I cherish your prayers for wisdom and direction on how I should proceed from this point on. God is still in control and he has my in the palm of His Hand. My day to be with Him is on his calendar, not man’s or the cancer’s calendar.

I thank each of you for your prayers and your encouraging emails, texts, letters and cards. It seems like each time I receive a communication from one of you, it comes at just the right time to help lift me up and encourage me. Pray with me that I will make the right decision.
