Hi, Samara.

Surprise! Me again! Crazy mixed up Monday here. While in the middle of town, this car I’m driving decided to act up. The engine speed would not advance above an idle. I sought some mechanical help, however, the problem has still not been identified, nevertheless the engine seems to be running fine again. That consumed about 3 hours of the day.

I ordered a new carburetor for an ailing lawnmower here at the school. After a wait of 2 ½ weeks I was finally able to pick it up today. I stuck it on this afternoon, and she runs fine again. A guy is cutting with it right now.

Well, how are you, Samara? I’ll look forward to getting some feedback.

Lots of love, Tua.

PS: For your homework, Samara, check out these verses: Deut. 11:26; I Cor. 16:22; Gal. 3:13; Rev. 22:3.

Proverbs 3
Focus: “The LORD’S curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous.” Proverbs 3:33.

We have a friend here in Vanuatu who has a high profile line of work in law enforcement. He has been involved in arresting and sentencing a lot of crooks who, for obvious reasons, are not very pleased with his work and would love to find a way to take revenge and do him harm. They may attempt to do so by engaging in a form of black magic that is common here in Vanuatu called NAKAIMAS. It’s a way to generate a CURSE. I don’t understand every facet of how it all works. I only know that it involves connection with the realm of evil spirits by means of various complicated formulas that are believed to prompt spirits (i.e., spirits believed to be those of deceased ancestors) to project an intended curse toward an intended enemy or group of enemies (family line). Once again, the underlying motivation is revenge and payback. The attracting benefit of this sinister tactic is that it does not require personal confrontation or combat. I believe this kind of thing really works on people who live outside the protective boundaries of the Kingdom of God—those not born of the Spirit and adopted into the Family of God. However, for those enlightened, Spirit activated, BORN AGAIN, in Christ, living to please Him, and all decked out in the “armor of God,” NO WAY!—this kind of black magic has no more effect than water on a duck’s back.

Here’s the deal as I see it: People living in ignorance, rejection, or rebellion against God have good reason to fear what their enemies can do by means of NAKAIMAS. That fear will probably motivate them to find some form of counter-magic to protect them from the attacking magic. A man directing a CURSE toward another man is one thing, but what do we do now with this declaration in the FOCUS VERSE?—that God, the Sovereign LORD of the universe, is also quite capable of generating a CURSE toward someone? Wow! That’s a heavy thought! If this is true, all other CURSES must be viewed as puny by comparison. But if God projects a CURSE, not by any need to resort to black magic, but by means of His own Sovereign Power and Will, that has to be a very BIG CURSE!—one to avoid at any cost.

Praise the Lord! This, of course, is the GOOD NEWS of the Biblical Gospel! Be assured that the BLESSING of God through Christ’s sacrifice is the one and only antidote to the CURSE of God.

“Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding.”
~ Proverbs 3:13 ~
