Greetings again, Samara.

I made a little error in my last message—saying that your party was Sunday, when it was actually Monday. I’m sure you didn’t regard it as an intentional lie.

Well, here I have a good deal of day before me and I still don’t have much of it nailed down with a plan—only possibilities.

I’ll stick on a photo of that boat. While I’m at it, I’ll also stick on a photo from your party on Monday when you were opening some kind of gift.

Blessings on your day. Love, Tua.

PS: That’s really neat that you plan to do a trip with your grandma to Peru to get a taste of medical mission work.

Proverbs 2
Focus: “…and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding…” Proverbs 2:3.

This is one of the IF conditions that Solomon lists out as requirements for achieving “the fear of the LORD” and “the knowledge of God” (v. 5). Notice the noise that one is called to make—“call out” and “cry aloud.” Does this imply that God (or Wisdom) is hard of hearing—and we need to raise our voices enough for Him to hear? No. He can hear a thought prayer quite well. But maybe there is something more beneficial in that audible expression than we even know. Sure, God wants to HEAR us pray, but maybe we need to HEAR us pray too—to hear ourselves articulate praise, worship, and petition. I’m inclined to believe there is a psychological benefit gleaned from that kind of exercise.

Perhaps I’ll drop a little personal question on you, Samara—one that you don’t have to answer to me: When is the last time you sought out a secret place removed from the hearing ears of other people where you talked to God out loud? I’m sure not wanting to put a “guilt trip” on you, but I think this kind of activity is worth the effort and discipline and actually promotes psycho-spiritual health.

As a good supportive assignment, read again the instructions of Jesus on prayer Matthew 6:5-15.

““Thus you will walk in the ways of good menand keep to the paths of the righteous.”
~ Proverbs 2:20 ~
