Hi there, Samara.

Picture of Thano's LizzardHow are things going with your online schooling? Would you rather be in a public school? What subjects do you like the most? Which do you dislike the most?

I’m sticking on a photo. Show it to Zane and see if he can give some background explanation. While you’re at it, maybe read the devotional to him and see what he thinks.

Hope you have a great day.

Love, Tua.

Proverbs 10
Focus: “He who heeds discipline shows the way to life, but he who ignores correction leads others astray.” Proverbs 10:17.

I know, Samara—you have never attended a Bible School or Seminary—you don’t have ministry credentials so as to hold a position in a church as a pastor, evangelist, or Bible teacher. Therefore it’s very unlikely that you have ever considered yourself a “Minister of the Gospel.” But I want to challenge you to think again—consider again the principles of both practical living as well as the principles of Christian living as gleaned from the Christian’s source of authority, the Bible—God’s Word.

One thing noteworthy here is to see a connection between the words “discipline” and “disciple.” So let me spin the FOCUS VERSE this way: “He who chooses to live on the level of Christian discipleship (as a committed and disciplined follower of Christ) actually demonstrates and role-models for others to see the ‘high road’ not just to life here and now, but to ETERNAL LIFE. On the other hand, he who refuses to recognize himself as wholly inadequate to do life successfully on his own—who rejects the idea of his being a sinner in need of a Savior—he, by his attitudes and lifestyle, will also be a role-model—but in the wrong direction—leading others astray, just like he is astray.”

This is exactly what Jesus was talking about in Matthew 5. I’ll include a section here in The Message translation. You can read it and judge for yourself if the shoe fits. “Here's another way to put it: You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand. Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand — shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16).

The bottom line is that EVERYONE IS A ROLE-MODEL—whether they know it or not. The question is, WHAT KIND?

“The tongue of the righteous is choice silver, but the heart of the wicked is of little value.”
~ Proverbs 10:20 ~
