Psalms 110 / Proverbs 19
Focus: "A man’s own folly ruins his life, yet his heart rages against the LORD.” Proverbs 19:3.

The discernment of this ancient author is amazing. His observation of man’s bent toward self-centeredness and hypocrisy is evidence that, although we have made huge advances in the arena of technology, man’s natural heart condition remains quite the same—as corrupt as ever! Man still botches things up and then turns around to get all mad at God for his having to face the consequences.

What if the Sovereign Creator made humans to be more robotically good—where they were programmed to love God and love each other with no temptation to do otherwise. Surely someone, if they had the freedom to do so, would complain to God saying, “This is not right! It’s not fair! You are not allowing us the freedom to choose!” So then, let’s imagine that God now modifies the programming of the human heart to allow full freedom of choice. Surely someone would rise to complain to God about that too. “This is not right! It’s not fair! You have given mankind way too much freedom of choice! Look at all the evil, pain, and suffering caused in this world by people making bad choices! If you are a God of love, how could you allow all this to happen?!” Good grief! God cannot win this debate to the satisfaction of the dirty duplicitous deceptive NATURAL SIN NATURE. It is only a HEART AFTER GOD that is enlightened to see things correctly.

“The fear of the LORD leads to life:Then one rests content, untouched (unharmed) by trouble.”
~ Proverbs 19:23 ~
