Good morning, dear ones.

Glad I’m basically done with my heavy brain work…as I see Kaden coming this way. Here he is. He found the kitty sleeping on a chair…so no rest for her for the time being. We picked up the little boys last evening in Beaverton.

I hope to grab a jog excursion before eating breakfast and taking on my list. The bathroom scale is reporting that I need that jog as never before. Lots to do.

“He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8). Today.

Love, Dad/Ray.

Passage: Numbers 1-3
Focus: “These are the names of the men who are to assist you: from Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur…” Numbers 1:5.

The governmental system for Israel at this time was clearly a theocracy. The LORD, through Moses, was calling the shots. And He was calling for organization, order, record-keeping, equity, division of labor, and military defense.

Notice that the selection of tribal leaders was made by God. It was not by democratic process. He named each one by name. Question: How did God know whom to choose? That’s easy—if we accept the Biblical record as our theological source of authority. The Sovereign LORD clearly possesses the supernatural ability to absolutely KNOW and monitor the total psychology of every person on planet earth—“the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account” (Hebrews 4:12-13). “Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7). It’s quite clear, therefore, that the LORD selected these leaders by the standard of a HEART AFTER GOD.

Let’s reaffirm that God knows (and records with perfect high-definition playback quality) your name, address, Social Security number, bank numbers, Face Book account, thoughts, motives, behavior, and the number of hairs on your head. He has no interest in stealing your identity—He invented it with plans to enhance it. Without a HEART AFTER GOD, these facts create a condition of terrible paranoia. But with a HEART AFTER GOD, it makes for wonderful relationship.
