Passage: Matthew 3
Focus: This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”  Matthew 3:17

I’d like to borrow from the incredible opportunity afforded us as indicated in John 1:12.  “But as many as received him, to them gave he the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (KJV).  What a deal!  Those who embrace the “only begotten Son” become sons.

If this is our adoption option, then I have to conclude that what the Father dramatically said of His Son upon His being baptized by John the Baptist is essentially the same as what He wants to say of you and me.  “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

Let’s not allow the wonder of it all to wear off.
