Hi friends,

well it has been a while since I wrote concerning Ardyth and her progress and healing from her surgeries last Fall.

First, I can tell you that she is healing well from the surgeries, and that healing is just about complete. She has no more symptoms at this time of any problems. Her surgeon is encouraged by her progress, and we see him again this week. God has given us peace concerning any more problems here.

Where she still needs some prayer, and we know we need patience, is the area of edema, or the holding of fluids in her legs, and her lack of gaining weight. Her appitite has improved greatly and she is now thinking about different foods that could help her. But her body is not retaining the protein from her foods, and it is just passing through her body, and the blood studies are showing an almost starvation results of diet. She has gained 10-12 pounds, but that appears to be fluids, and that is very painful for her. Pray with us that this will change in the near future. We did see a nutritionist about 10 days ago, and will see her again next week, so we trust that will help in this area.

She is able to be up and around the house to do normal every day chores, which she is happy to be able to perform. We also get out to do different errands and to walk in the mall. We did that today, and that was good for her. We cannot go to far, but we do plan to go to a wedding in late May in Santa Barbara, which is about 4 hours drive, so we are trusting that is not going to be too much. God will help, as He is in Control.

We appreciate the calls, emails and cards from you. and especially your continuing prayers. We are not going to Arizona this year, but hopefully will be going to Washington state in mid or late summer. Continue to communicate as we both love to hear from you all.

Jack
