Jack O'Brien's Personal update:

Saturday, November 6, 2010

Hi everyone, just to let you know Ardyth and I have been enjoying our time together as she continues to recuperate from her surgery, which was on October 4. After 7 days in the hospital, she has improved each day, and now has been out to church 3 Sundays, we have gone walking a little in the neighborhood, but mostly in one of the local Malls, where we can go around the mall in 15-20 minutes (unless we get bogged down (sorry Ted and Carol) going into stores or see some friends). This is good medicine for her and also gets her activity up and keeps her body mobile. We both thank you so much for your encouraging thoughts and notes.

She is scheduled for her next surgery, the Whipple Surgery, on November 10 at 7:30 am. We have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am. I think we will just go the night before and they can wake us at the right time (I wish). The Drs. are very positive about this, and because she has done so well in her recovery, feel her stay in the hospital would be no longer than the first one. So we are anticipating her being home on the 17th, or at the latest, the 20th of November. She will be in Good Samaritan Hospital again, and I will let you know when she can have visitors.

Again, we will appreciate your encouraging words and prayers as we approach this time. You are all so encouraging to us and we really appreciate your prayers and friendship.

Jack and Ardyth.
