Jack O'Brien's Personal update:

October 7, 2010

Hello family and friends. Today is a day of rejoicing and thankfulness. Our surgeon told us today that the blockage in the colon that he cut out on Monday was from diverticula in the colon, that could turn to cancer, but this was benign. It had begun to leak through the wall of the colon and accumulate in the stomach cavity. This is what he saw when he went in to operate on the pancreas. So he had to cut out that portion of the colon that was effected, clean out the waste that had leaked into the area and also removed her appendics. They also sent this to pathologist for testing. This tested out all non-cancerous!!!!!!!!!

The second surgery Monday night was to stop some bleeding she was experiencing, which caused them to give her 6 units of blood Monday night and 2 more Tuesday night. Today she is looking pink and rosey. she still has had no pain or any symtoms of any problems. She is resting tonight in a regular hospital room and not in the ICU. The Dr. has removed most all of her medical assistant connections and just has a vital signs machine still connected.

She can have visitors in the hospital now for short visits, and should be coming home Sunday or Monday.

We are so thankful for all of you, your prayers and love you have shown in different ways. May God bless each of you for all your efforts. To God be the Glory. We are very fortunate to have family and friends like you. We love you all.

Jack and Ardyth.
