Dear Friends & Prayer Partners:

These last several weeks have been very interesting and challenging. And I am asking for your prayers and a very special and unique way.

Around six to eight weeks ago, I tripped over a curb and thought at that time that I had sprained and bruised myself in my hips and legs. After enduring the pain for a short period of time I went to the doctor to confirm my diagnosis and he somewhat agreed that I was correct. Before I left with the family for a family reunion down on the Oregon coast, I conferred with my doctor again and he realized that possibly we need to do a scan or something to find out what was going on. While waiting for the okay for this test, I went on to the Oregon coast and endured lots of pain. It was bad enough that the sciatic nerve on my right side would almost put me to the ground after walking only a short distance. A couple of days after I returned home, I was scheduled for an MRI on Wednesday late afternoon and got the results on Thursday morning. The doctor informed me that the sixth tumor that was found in a previous scan that is located in the center of my lower back was now growing and pressing on the nerves in my back that controlled the pain level in my hips and legs. He immediately scheduled me to go to the radiation department to start the procedure of radiating this tumor. The MRI scan showed that this tumor is about the size of the end of my thumb and they also told me that with this renal cell terminal kidney cancer is a very hard tumor to control or to medicate. And they felt that this was the only possible way to relieving the pain and to slow down the cancer. I started Friday morning by going over and getting tattooed and set up for my first radiation. They also gave me a pill to reduce the swelling around the tumor hoping that it would reduce the pressure on my sciatic nerves and also give them a better image to treat. Friday night I slept through the night for the first time in a number of days and did not have to get up and take any pain pills that had little to no effect. I went all day Saturday and Sunday with a pain level of around one to two on a scale of one to ten. The pain level prior to these pills was around the level of a twenty to thirty on a scale of one to ten. I have now taken three treatments and have seven more left before they’re going to do another scan and find out if this treatment is doing any good.

When the doctor told me that I had this growing tumor on Thursday, and after thinking about all that he had told me, I received a message that I believe was from God in a verbal voice in my head. He said to me “in 1981 when you had the brain tumor and was given six months to live. I did not remove the spider brain tumor from your head until the third surgery. In that period of time you touched many lives. When you lost your hip joint because of staff infection and was told that you that you were within 24 hours of dying and would never walk again, you went for almost nine months walking around on a pair of crutches. During this time you learned a lot about yourself plus introducing Me to many. In 1986 when you lost your right kidney due to kidney cancer and was told you have up to two years to live, you did not find out that I had removed that cancer until after the doctors reported to you that all the lymph nodes surrounding that malignant cancer kidney did not have any cancer found in them. And they gave you a clean bill of health. Be patient and live for Me and I will take care of you for you are in the palm of My hand.” So I am standing on this word and depending on God to take me where He wants me to go and be. I’m asking that your prayers be as follows, that He gives me the eyesight to see the open doors for me to walk through and the boldness to speak forth about the love of God. That this cancer might be brought under control in fact even eliminated from my body. What’s important to me most of all is not the success of being cancer free but to be used by God in these days that others might find His loving grace in their life.

I thank you for your love, prayers, support, cards, and encouraging emails. They mean a lot to me and encourage and strengthen me. May God richly bless you and take care of you and help you as you walk with Him. Remember that the time is short and we only have a little time to bring the lost ones into His loving grace and salvation. If you don’t know my Lord and Savior, email or call me and let me introduce you to my Savior and Lord, the one that has healed me time and time again and the one that is taking care of me now.

God richly bless you and encourage you and strengthen you
