MESSAGE FROM YOUR REUNION COORDINATORS

Eunice and I are so pleased to be able to have a part in bringing together Northwest College classmates from the '60s. Every summer since 2003 we have helped to facilitate an annual reunion/retreat in Sedro-Woolley, Washington. God has uniquely blessed this annual event and made it far more than just a fun time to reconnect with old friends and reminisce about experiences of the past. In this tranquil northwest Washington woodland campground, we have reconnected on a spiritual level that has inspired, refreshed, and bonded us together in Christian love.  The Lord's blessing has motivated us to continue these events on an annual basis for over a dozen years now.

2017 REUNION REPORT:
On the weekend of July 21-23 last year a total of 104 alumni, family and friends, came together at Vandenburg Campground in Sedro-Woolley for another wonderful outdoor gathering. Friday evening 50 to 60 people participated in the BBQ dinner and evening sharing. The group enlarged to about 100 on Saturday for the potluck dinner and afternoon program. There were 45 people back on Sunday morning for group worship with an inspiring message by Terry Peretti followed by a wonderful time of communion. There were five 60s alums for whom this was their very first time attending one of our events. The first-timers were, Rosie (Nordby) Dewey of Loon Lake, WA, Danny Fetters, transitioning back to the northwest from Texas, Gayle (Greenland) Jeffries of Huntington Beach, CA and Terry & Marsha (Welk) Peretti of Vashon, WA. Also attending for the first time was, former professor and 60s alum, Darrell Hobson of Kirkland, WA.

PLANS FOR A 2018 REUNION:
We have set aside the weekend of July 27-29, 2018 for the next reunion/retreat. If you have contact with 60s classmates who have not yet been involved in our reunions, pass this information on to them and invite them to join you at Sedro-Woolley the end of July.

MORE LOVED ONES FINISH THEIR COURSE:
We had to say goodbye to several more dear friends in 2017. May 13, 2017 marked the homegoing of friend and classmate, Karen (Tuttle) Hill. On June 18, another classmate, Linda (Kuch) Dymond went to be with Jesus. Classmate and missionary, Sallee (Schroeder) Conn finished her labours the end of July. There was a great celebration of Sallee's life in late August at Shoreline Community Church. The 60s Alumni Reunion family was saddened by the passing of our beloved reunion hostess, LaVonda Vandenburg. LaVonda and her husband Danny have provided a home for our reunions for the past 15 summers at their lovely campground in Sedro-Woolley, WA.

ONLINE RESOURCES AND CONNECTIONS:
Beyond the annual retreats, we have developed a growing network of '60s alums online.  In addition to this nc60salumni.com website, many Northwest College/University alumni are connecting on facebook. If you are a facebook member, you can join our 60s alumni group called, "Northwest University 1960s Alumni & Friends". You are able to post your own comments and photos on this page.

Ray Sparre has resumed his practice of producing a daily devotional communication this year which we are posting under the tab "Ray Sparre Daily Musings". We hope you will check out this source of stimulating thought and spiritual encouragement. From that page, you have access to archives of his devotional writings all the way back to 2010.

Dale & Rita Lidstrom have been an integral part of our alumni reunions. Many of you have been blessed by their ministry. They have a website where you may access their music, personal updates, "Evening Blessing" podcasts and more at: http://lidstroms.com.

Periodically throughout the year, we send out a group email to everyone in our network database with news updates and information about members of our decade of alumni. If you attended Northwest College anytime during the decade of the 1960s and are not receiving our communications, please send me an email with your contact information so that you may be included.

Help us reinforce the bonds of our connections by sending us updates and information about your activities.  I have long wanted to expand our online directory by publishing photos, contact information and a brief bio to help friends locate and reconnect with friends.  If you want us to make your information available through our online directory, please send us an email authorization with the information you want us to post.

In Christian Love,
Elvin & Eunice Huston
